Developer preview · Linux (X11)
Overview
in&space is a local driver that lets an AI agent read and operate the apps on your computer, while you stay in control. It runs on your machine, speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to the agent, and has no network code at all: no telemetry, no update check, no account.
Developer preview, Linux (X11) first. macOS and Windows are in progress.
What it does
- Reads an app's window through the platform's accessibility interfaces and returns a compact, structured view the model can act on.
- Performs actions such as clicking a button, typing into a field or choosing a menu item, and reports what changed.
- Works in the background where the operating system allows it, so you can keep using your computer.
How you stay in control
- Consent: nothing happens until you pick the apps in the driver's own dialog, with a mouse click. See Consent.
- Scope and lease: an agent only sees the apps you picked, for a limited time. See Scope and lease.
- Headless by default: the agent works without moving your pointer. Moving it needs a separate takeover. See Headless and takeover.
- The indicator and hand-back: a takeover is always visible, and your own mouse or keyboard stops it. See The indicator and hand-back.
- The kill switch: one signal ends every session at once. See The kill switch.
